Knowing what to practice is only one part of making progress. The deeper work is finding your way to the piano, becoming fully engaged with the music, and making that time meaningful and rewarding.
That’s something we’ll develop together. I’ll help you discover what draws you in, what helps you become focused and present, and how to create a practice life that works within the life you actually live.
This is one of the cornerstones of my teaching. You’ll have more than material to work on—you’ll have an experienced partner who knows how to help you connect with the music, find your momentum, and keep growing.

For more than 30 years, I’ve taught, composed, and performed music. My background began with classical training and later expanded into modern music and jazz through continued study and decades of experience as a working musician.
I’ve performed hundreds of gigs with bands across rock, pop, blues, and jazz. I understand the difference between knowing about music and being able to use that knowledge when you sit down to play.
That real-world experience informs a teaching approach I have continually refined to help students understand music, develop practical skills, express themselves, and become the musicians they want to be.
Just as importantly, I understand that meaningful progress comes from more than information. It requires a teacher who listens, recognizes what a student needs, explains ideas clearly, and knows how to turn them into achievable next steps.
I’ll be there not only as your teacher, but as a mentor, coach, and musical partner—helping you stay focused, work through challenges, recognize your progress, and keep moving toward the kind of playing that inspired you to begin.

Your free introductory lesson
Let’s begin at the piano.
Your introductory lesson is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about your musical experience and what you want to play, and begin working together at the piano.
You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly where to begin. You can bring a song, a question, something you’ve been working on, or no previous experience at all.
We’ll explore what you want from music, identify a useful place to start, and do some real work together. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what is possible and how we can begin developing the skills and understanding to make it happen.
